Sharon Telephone Company in Hills, IA is an independent phone company and broadband provider in the Hills, Riverside and Frytown communities. Our exchange is located south and west of Iowa City, IA. We are expanding our all fiber to the home network. Our top goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality support. We are looking for a customer-focused, self-motivated Network Technician II to perform the duties listed.
Network Technician II
Job Functions
Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network equipment.
Experience with Calix, Allied, Accedian, and Adtran network equipment or a demonstrated aptitude to learn.
Basic HVAC and generator experience desired.
Experience with DC power plants.
Perform fiber splicing in the field and in central office fiber distribution panel.
Fiber-to-the-home installation experience.
High level of customer focus with a customer first attitude. Positive mindset a must.
Teamwork and strong communication skills.
Requirements
The top candidate will be obsessed with the customer, enjoy working in a small company environment, build on our team atmosphere and have experience in the telecommunications field. Qualified candidates should demonstrate familiarity with LAN/WAN, fiber networks, Calix, GPON/AE, CLI programming, IP. We will train the right person in all aspects of our fiber to the home installations and our overall network.
Valid driver’s license is required for this position.
