Sharon Telephone Company has been bringing customers face-to-face with the latest communications technology for 100 years! We are an independent phone company and broadband provider to the Hills, Riverside and Frytown communities. Our exchange is located south and west of Iowa City, IA. We will be a 100% fiber optic network by the end of 2021. In order to provide our customers with the highest quality support, we are in need of a customer focused self-motivated Network Technician. This position is full time.
Network Technician
Qualifications and Responsibilities
Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network equipment.
Experience with Calix, Allied, Accedian and Adtran network equipment or a demonstrated aptitude to learn.
HVAC and generator experience desired.
Experience with DC power plants.
Perform fiber splicing in the field and in central office fiber distribution panels.
Some Fiber to the Home Installation is required as part of this job. This entails drilling into walls and floors of customer homes and running power and data cable to provide internet, TV, and phone via the Calix ONT.
Being on-call every third week is a requirement of this job.
Valid driver’s license is required and must have a good driving record as a company vehicle is provided.
High level of customer focus with a customer first attitude. Positive mindset a must.
Team work and strong communication skills.
Salary commensurate with experience.
